What I saw last night. Trisha Brown Dance Company at Dia:Beacon. 
Very early start on a Saturday morning is never going to put me in a good mood but the show was pretty good once we got there. 
First we had to join the heard from the train to the museum. 
I am getting to see the Dia in all seasons.

A long dreary train ride to Beacon in the rain. Brief moment’s of sun for leaf peepers 
…but by enlarge I was happy to get on the train back home. 
The performance took place in several of the galleries. We were required to follow the dancers from room to room as they performed sometimes with sticks and on two occasions with music (Grateful Dead’s “Uncle John’s Band” & Gordon Lightfoot’s version of Dylan’s “Early Mornin’ Rain”). This is the second time in a week I was forced to walk after a performance. I may have to change the name of the blog.

What I saw last night. Merce Cunningham at Dia:Beacon.
I had never been here before and actually drove. Good event and an unusual museum. Giant rooms with large pieces of art like Richard Serra’s “Torqued Ellipses”
The show was one of Cunningham’s events and the final performances of some of the dancers. Perk of driving is you get to stop on the road and get dinner. I chose “Chalet on the Hudson”.
Apparently a German restaurant, they were having a sweet 16 party. I recommend the Wurst platter if you are real hungry. Also eat outside if possible.
