Basil Twist

What I saw last night. Basil Twist at the Rose Theater. IMG_4748A live orchestra performs throughout. In the first piece paper mountains open and close revealing light and shake like an earthquake.

The second piece performers dressed all in black move tubes around forming kaleidoscopic patterns to the music.

The final piece is best as curtain after curtain falls in a shimmering fashion that resembles rain streaming across a windshield. Perspectives shift as a black frame moves closer and further away and a man seem trapped beneath it all.

Elements: silk, smoke, live music, tubes, many curtains, repelling lines
Title: “Fireworks” “Pulcinella Suite” “The Rite of Spring”
